Have you kicked Steve's Arse yet.
Over the last two year, Steve Groom has been one of our better runners and has claimed a few club records, to which we all (including Steve) say well done, but Steve has been beaten quite a few times, and it is important to remember ALL of these, all with an OUCH rating. Please let me know if I have missed any. They are in ascending OUCH order.
In the 2005 Holly Hill challenge (Jan 2006), Steve finished 2nd to Graeme. - Ouch rating 0.
In the most recent race, Ben Ward beats Steve at Paddock Wood 2006 despite cycling there and back. Steve did play football the day before and his back hurt a bit and he is marathon training and he wasn't reall yup for it - Ouch rating 1.
During the 2005/6 cross country series, Steve led the Larks challenge, but suffered a couple of defeats to Iain and Graeme. - Ouch rating 1.
In the 2004/5 cross country series, Steve was quite often the second Lark home, beaten mainly by Kevin O. - Ouch rating 2.
During the first half of 2004, Steve was quite often behind Peter Seal, but he knew his day would come. - Ouch rating 2.
Harvel 5 in 2004, Steve finally beats Peter Seal, but is beaten by Ed. Ed promptly retires from road races denying Steve any revenge.- Ouch rating 3.
London marathon 2004, Steve overtrains and gets injured before the race, he is third Lark home behind Kevin U. and Caroline, first time he has been beaten by a girl. Ouch rating 4.
For the 2004 Holly Hill challenge, Steve arranged the whole event, on the day everything looked under control until Jason ran away from him. - Ouch rating 5.
Thanet 10M 2004, its really not fair to mention this, he wasn't well and was injured but there was an outside chance of the club championship. Steve beaten by Kevin O, Jason, Rob B, Ravi, Dave D (really), Mike G and Bridget who he ran with, he does beat Jane and Josie. - Ouch rating 5.
Club championship 2004, Steve is the runner up after a good year, but the winner is Mike Hawkins - Ouch rating 6.
Club championship 2005, after a series of club records, surely it was meant to be Steve's year, but its not to be, Mark Weber is club champion, Steve can't bear to watch and goes to America - Ouch rating 9.
Finally and I have had to add this, Steve's first run for the club was the Sevenoaks 7 in 2003, despite beating Nicola, Steve got his arse kicked by Dave Dean, I don't know the times, but it wasn't close - Ouch rating 9.
Only one person can deliver the ouch rating of 10, so come on Nic, the whole club is waiting.
