| Misc | This was the first club aquathon / barbecue, the event being organised by Mike Hawkins. The weather had been good all day but gradually got wetter and darker as we got towards 7PM. The long course event went off first with an impressive 17 people swimming. James quickly built a big lead and was over four minutes clear coming out of the water, a lead he never looked like losing. Rob Day pulled clear of the pack on the run as he and Sarah won the relay event. In the short course event Dave Barton (on his second swim) pulled out a big lead on the swim before handing over to Jane Morris who who came home first in the relay race. The individual race being won by Paul Curtis mainly thanks to a quick run. Despite the rain the evening continued with a barbecue thanks to Nicola and Steve, the only mystery being what happened to a bottle of wine, Mike H. continues to investigate. |
