RACE RESULTS 2008
Mel got 4th overall and 2nd super vet in 2.36.52 and I got 1st super vet in 2.13.19 which I made 12th overall..... and it wouldn't have been last in the Elite Race either.
On the Tuesday after we also took part in the "Swimming Marathon" 5k sea swim race that was interesting. Somewhere over 100 people, including most of the Russian elite squad from the triathlon headed off out to sea around the point. You had to find the 5 marker bouys with virtually no boat coverage. Question mark over how many went round the bouys as it was much shorter hugging the very rocky coast line. Health and safety would have had a fit over here.
Anyway I made it in 1.35.01 and Mel finished in 1.47.55. Very long way not having not swum that far for over 25 years!
